Friday, August 6 - Sunday, August 8: 3-Day Workshop: Meditation & the Wisdom of LAO-TZU Daniel Lamontagne, a meditation teacher based in Memphis, Tennessee, conducts workshops throughout the southeast United States, teaching basic to advanced levels of meditation and channeling Lao Tzu, the great sage and originator of the Tao Te Ching.
In this weekend workshop, Daniel channels Lao Tzu at least three times. Lao Tzu can work with class participants on a very deep level, even after they have returned home. He acts as a mirror so people can see themselves more clearly. They begin to release old patterns, see where they may be stuck, and go deeper into their meditation practice. They feel energies, awaken the higher self, and expand their awareness.
Daniel’s teaching incorporates the skills he has developed over thirty years of study in spirituality and mysticism. In particular, he follows the Taoist/Buddhist/Confucius tradition and path of the Chinese sage Wong Loh Sin See, and he has further studied the works of Grandmaster Foo Wei Zhong, John Kabat Zinn, Eckhart Tolle, and Jack Kornfield.
Daniel works with the “spiritual energies of the heart” meditation practice by teaching different meditation techniques through walking, standing, and sitting. He also will place students in formations, enabling the meditators to experience the effects that arise as they are arranged in different groups.
As energies are demonstrated, class participants are taught how to understand them and use them to heal themselves and others. Daniel also demonstrates how intuition works and how class participants can strengthen their own intuitive abilities.
To meditate with Lao Tzu and Daniel is to sit quietly and open up to what we feel inside. We can sense and feel this energy that we all have inside so that we become stronger and better able to deal with life’s difficulties. Basic philosophy is introduced along with an introduction to the sun salutations, standing poses, some seated postures, and guided meditation.
